Join the Prometheus Team
Logistics Staff: Organizing tournaments is a lot of work. Previously, each tournament’s logistics was managed by the Prometheus board, but that’s unsustainable as the organization continues to grow. We’re looking for smart, competent people to help us run our tournaments next year. This is a fairly large time commitment - it’s similar to a tournament director role and should be considered a part-time job with a variable level of work. Both current students and alumni are welcome to apply as long as they’re dedicated to making science bowl better.
Most logistical work will be for online competitions, as they’re much larger and have no specific tournament directors. This includes working with Zoom, Google Sheets, Discord, and other platforms to set up tournament infrastructure. Some work may also include email and Discord communication with competitors.
Outreach Staff: We can’t host competitions without teams! Our outreach staff are responsible for finding those teams and giving them the resources they need to compete. These staff should be comfortable with finding and contacting new teams as well as using existing contacts to improve competitions. In particular, the number of teams is often the limiting factor for in-person competitions, so outreach will mostly focus on finding contacts in specific locations for specific tournaments. These staff will also be responsible for Prometheus’ social media and other miscellaneous communication.
