Ignis
A better science bowl experience.
When the pandemic hit, thousands of students across the country lost their chance to compete head-to-head in science bowl. Many official competitions remain online, using an asynchronous format without the aspect that made science bowl so unique. Prometheus hopes to give teams a chance to compete more and practice their skills in a traditional competitive format.
This winter, Prometheus ran four in-person tournaments across the country and two virtual tournaments for teams without one nearby. See the full results from each tournament here.
These tournaments were run using Ignis, a regional-level question set written by Prometheus specifically for these tournaments. See the full packets from each of these tournaments here.
After all Ignis competitions finished, the Prometheus team selected the top 48 teams across every competition from that season. These 48 teams faced off at Olympus, a single national-level tournament in the spring, to determine Prometheus’s national championship and win from a prize pool of $25,000.
