Become a Moderator
Moderators are responsible for managing individual matches at tournaments and have relatively few responsibilities. Most of our moderators are science bowl alumni currently in college, although anyone is welcome to apply. We do expect that moderators have experience with science bowl, but experience moderating for competitions like quiz bowl may be enough. If you aren’t sure you have the necessary experience, contact us to ask!
At in-person tournaments, there will generally be 2-3 moderators per room to handle reading, scoring, and timing. At virtual tournaments, each match will only have one moderator, as our buzzing software makes that manageable for anyone with science bowl experience.
